The Loach will be on static only, but hopefully will provide a flypast on arrival and departure.

Evening all, just to add Neil McCarthy will be landing and displaying his Jet Provost. Lets hope this weather hangs around for a change.

Two weeks today I'm hoping to be relaxing after a busy, warm, sunny f=day with a lot of visitors. As in previous years all landing fees will go to charity

As with last year parking on the grass (which we hope will be shorter) near the tower, though we aren't going to get all jobsworth about it hi-vis is preferred, if only to try and distinguish pilots and passengers in the parking area.

Guys - you know we'd love to be there but we're busy in E Anglia, doing Lowestoft and Old Buckenham that day.

.... and we would love you to be there, one year we will sort it out. Hope you have as good a weekend as we intend too (crosses everything that's humanly possible) ;)
Also just to add the Spitfire MK26 has been replaced with the Isaacs Fury.

For anyone wishing to fly in it is not a PPR event, however a phone call to John Plaskett on 07710 672087 (airfield coordinator) would be appreciated, though not essential :)

As it was a couple of years ago the LAA East of Scotland strut fly in is at Kingsmuir on 23 & 24. Hope we don't both lose out due to that & I hope you get the same weather that we have ordered.

There looks to be a nice ridge of high pressure at the moment, so fingers crossed we both have a good day, hopefully we're far enough apart not to have a major effect on arrivals, hope you have a good turnout :)

How things can change, sorry to hear of Kingsmuir cancelling till later in the year, however Kirkbride is still very much ON, we have 4000ft of tarmac and plenty of hardstanding should it be too soggy underfoot.

Chris, couple of questions;
plenty of hardstanding
Has the strange growth of concrete blocks been sorted out then? Or is there hard parking/access somewhere else on the airfield?
AVGAS will be available at £2 per litre
Is this still right?

Thanks

Following very heavy rain overnight and today, there is a pitch inspection planned for 09:00 tomorrow where a final decision will be made. This is due to the plan of parking on the grass.
There is an option to use the remains of runway 23 as two years ago but it is a bit of a walk back to the tower/hanger area.
The fuel is as shown (this is available all the time with PPR)

It is all systems go for the Charity fly in tomorrow, parking will be on the grass which is still firm, having held up really well to the recent rain. Hope to see a few of you there!:)

Sad to report that the Loach has cancelled due to the weather which is expected to be a lot better tomorrow so a bit of an unexpected and unwelcome surprise for us. :ugh:
