Hi guys,

A colleague of mine (ADC in New Zealand) will be in London in March and was wondering how difficult it is to get a visit to Heathrow Tower?

Is there somebody that might be able to PM me to discuss?

Cheers - appreciate it.

Very difficult as the present tower is airside and the security at Heathrow is notorious for being shall we say 'dedicated'.

Ah well that makes life a little more complex.

Any other Towers, such as Gatwick, easier? Or London LTCC?

Great shame about this part of the world where security has gone bananas. My wife and I received every possible help and friendship when we visited several NZ ATC facilities.

I don't know about Gatwick but LTCC is at Swanwick on the south coast and may be a possibility if someone from there reads this and offers a leg up..

Hope your buddy enjoys the UK as much as we've enjoyed our trips to NZ..

I think the towers at most 'London' airports are airside; I'm not sure about London City (near the O2 and Excel Arenas) .

My son is a controller at Terminal Control at Swanwick,I'm sure he would be happy to sponsor a visit there - not as good as going to LHR Tower ( says an ex LHR Twr man!).

One or two LHR Twr guys use this site,I'm sure they can help.

EGKK is also airside.

EGSS is land side and gets quite a few visitors
