Would be grateful if someone familiar with Sabiha Gokchen airfield LTFJ can explain the go-around procedure for ILS R/W 06 and ILS R/W 24.

Reading the text it appears as if one is supposed to level off and continue till the VOR; and only then climb to come over the VOR at the missed approach altitude.

Thanks

ss- it really helps those of us who do not have big cupboard stuffed with Jepps behind us if you can post the plate or at least the text.

That's exactly why I wrote that someone familiar with LTFJ should help me. Btw, I do not have the Jeppesen approach plates with me.

Still hoping to hear from someone who flies into this airport.

Sir Herbert

Thank you for posting the approach plates.

The use of word "then" twice in the text for the missed approach is confusing to say the least.

I believe that if a decision is made at MDA to go around, the aircraft will start to climb as soon as TOGA power is applied (A-320). After reaching 2300 ft, in managed mode, the aircraft will turn left/right to come over the VOR/NDB at 4000 ft.

Hoping, that, now someone will be able to solve this problem.

I always find the official AIP charts easier than Jeppesen's to read.

The AIP for ILS 06 LTFJ says "proceed VOR climb to 2300ft on R060 then right climb to 4000ft proceed VOR and hold". (similar for 24 but left turn and R240).

The Jeppesen's has a subtle difference "proceed to VOR then climb to 2300ft", (my bold) so if you follow Jeppesen's and you go-around at DA you'd be still at DA till you got to the VOR!

The profile view on the AIP clearly shows a climb to 2300ft on both the ILS 06 and 24 standard missed approach procedure.

Looks to me that you should climb to 2300ft till you get to the VOR then left/right climbing turn to 4000ft.

I've not bothered to look at their other IAPs.

I agree with Andy - Jepp has mis-read the g/a. Presumably the 2300/VOR block is purely to avoid conflict with arriving/holding traffic.

ATERPSTER???

Thanks. İ also think so. Now just have to go convince my colleague.

Once again thanks to all those who contributed.
