It is reported with great sadness that Stuart Hartley passed away this morning, Thursday 12 Jan.
Stu was ex-RAF Air Traffic and ATC Manager Humberside for many years. He is owed much by many people.
All of those who knew him will join us in extending our deepest sympathy to his family.

Stuart was an outstanding man - an Officer and a gentleman to the core. We were instructors together and went through the same Instructor Course at RAF Shawbury in 1986. You will be missed sorely.

I worked for Stu for about 13 years and, whilst we never saw eye to eye personally, he was probably the best Boss I've worked for.

One of his best assets was that he didn't take any crap from any of the other Airport Management. Even if you'd commited the most heanous sin in history, he'd protect you and not permit any outside personal interference. Thereafter he'd take you apart in the office, but that would be the end of the matter.

Gentleman? I don't know about that, but it will take a bloody big pair of feet to fill his shoes.

I worked with Stu at CATCS in the mid-1980s. He was one of life's gentlemen and a thorough professional in all he did. A life over far too soon.

I too worked with Stu at CACTS in the eighties and got to know him well. I second all the comments made about him. Sad loss.
