Just a heads-up for all you aerobatics competition flyers out there, in case you haven't heard it by now.
The FAI has completely re-arranged the Aresti Catalog of Aerobatics Figures. All figures in families 1-8 now have a four-part sequence number, and the grouping of sequences into subfamilies has been made more consistent. For example, the beloved horizontal line 1.1.1 is now called 1.1.1.1. (But not all conversions are that straightforward.:ouch:)
In addition to this, several new subfamilies have been added:
- 7.4 Reversing Whole Loops
- 7.5 Horizontal S's
- 8.6 Reversing P Loops
- 8.8 Double Humpty Bumps
To the best of my knowledge, no K factors for existing figures have been changed.
Obviously this will have a major impact on sequence creating software (Alan Cassidy and OLAN), "known" sequences and the rules wrt. "free" and "unknown" sequences. Especially if you design sequences yourself.
