Hey guys,

I have a doubt on the validity of LR as laid out by Indian DGCA. The LR carries a validity of 6 months, which can be extended by upto 2 months, thereby having a maximum validity if maximum 8 months, but the rule also states that you must have a minimum of 2 LR within a 12 month period.

Now assuming that I did my LR on the 1st of Jan 2011, followed by a LR/IR on the 30th June, 2011. Going by the 6 months validity of LR, it would lapse on the 29th Dec, 2011. If we consider an extension of 2 months as per the CAR, it would be valid until the 28th Feb, 2012. But if I were to fly after the 31st Dec, 2011, then I would not be having 2 LR in the preceding 12 months. Is that legal??.:confused:

I tried looking up the DGCA website (Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India (http://www.dgca.nic.in)), but could not find the document which clarifies this. I know its there on the website somewhere, but I just couldn't find it. :ugh:

Can somebody throw some light on this.

Thanx..Kush.
