Had someone buy an online voucher for a flying lesson.

We were asked if they could be dropped off at Sanford as part of the lesson. They were serious as well!

Better put a bigger engine in the PA28!

Had someone else book a lesson in a two seater Cessna 150 and couldnt understand why they couldnt bring their boyfriend as well as them to fly. They went on to say they were ace on MS flight sim and didnt really want the instructor to come with them!

Wonder what other ones other people have had.

I'm sure it's fairly common, but people turing up to fly and you can't even see the windsock for the fog and they still expect to fly. You try to explain that the weather isn't good enough, but the only response is "but we drove an hour to get here". You try to explain they could've phoned before they left, and that it's simply not safe to fly, but they still don't quite get it.

I've had it at least 3 times.

There is of course a Sandford upon Thames just South of Kidlington!people turing up to fly and you can't even see the windsock for the fog and they still expect to flyApplies equally to the UK Border Agency numpties who turn up to check flights; and I recall one case of the police telling a flying club that they were wasting police time when an aircraft was delayed due to fog!

The general public's association with flying is conditioned to holiday travel and little more.

I was on the desk one morning when a lady came in to buy a trial lesson voucher.
She asked. "Can you bring the aeroplane to the house or do we have to come here?":ugh:

"But this is the 3rd time you've cancelled me due weather, cant you make an exception?"
"Well I can take you into a cloud for an hour and you wont be allowed to touch the controls"

Should'nt that be "Nowt as queer as folk????"
Have had a few flight sim eejits wanting no instructor , half hour trial from blackpool wanting to go see grandma in torquay, met the guy who was on police warnings who tried to seize control of the aircraft , one girl didnt want to fly she just wanted to get in the aircraft and "drive round the field abit"
My favourite was always when the FHM high street honeys came on a shoot and all flew in very scanty outfits , good times
