VOR Command sense?!?

I'm throroughly confuzzled about this...

are there any quick guidelines or checks that you can go through to determine whether or not the VOR indicator is in command sense or not... the text book I am reading isn't too clear about this.

If I understand the question from Trevor Thom Memeories command sense is when the needle on the VOR CDI says fly right and you need to fly right to regain the radial.

I usually check the heading on the OBS matches the heading on the Compass/DI. If it is 180 degrees out then it is probably not in the command sense. (Ie fly left indication will actually be fly right).It does not matter what the from to flag is saying.
