Dear all

I heard a rumor that the JAA is considering to allow Canadian CPL and ATP holders to convert to JAA CPL or ATPL automatically, since Canada may be a part of the JAA in a couple of years.

Has anyone hear anything about that? Could this possible be true?

Thanks in advance!

I don't really know about it, but since april 2012 new FCL rules will apply.

So, the new flight crew licensing authority will be EASA. There will be some interesting changes (especially regarding type ratings and new licenses for light SEP).

Have a look at EASA - Opinions (http://www.easa.eu.int/agency-measures/opinions.php) and maybe you will find any NPA (maybe it is just a notice of proposed amendment).

It appears that EASA wants to promote itself as THE global standard in teaching the rest of the world's pilots how to fly, so I doubt it would adopt any non-EU pilot certifications. :{
