In response to a post on another forum, how would the hijackers of those aircraft which hit the WTC and the Pentagon been able to accurately home their aircraft into their targets without flying around making themselves obvious?

Could they have keyed the coordinates into the Inertial Navigation System and just flown in if they had the know how to do it or how would it have been done?

Or were they just so big they couldnt miss them?

Thanks lots:)

See following for 'A Pilot's view' from 2001

The Hijackings: A Pilot's View (http://ntwebweaver.com/flights.htm)

The theory put forward then was that the hi-jackers had taken the flights before. This was later confirmed by T. Carter who was an American Airlines Flight Attendant.

Scroll through to 11:11 for T. Carter on the following video link.

She reveals that some of the hi-jackers had conducted prior reconnaissance flights on the routes and had made video tapes as well as visiting the cockpits.

In addition to prior intelligence gathering flights the hi-jackers obviously chose a fine weather day.

In theory they could have loaded a lat/long waypoint into the INS derived from a good chart and that would have put them within a couple of hundred yards of the WTC/Pentagon, I don't know if they did that or did not.

Given the weather I doubt they needed that accuracy.

DCT KJFK/KDCA and then take it visually from when you get close to Manhatten/DC.

The visual part is the tricky bit. The NY aircraft didn't have a problem spotting the twin towers. The aircraft that hit the Pentagon is thought to have had the Whitehouse as it's primary target. It circled DC for a while before going for the Pentagon. It's assumed the hijackers couldn't see the primary and went for the much more obvious Pentagon instead. It's also assumed the fourth aircraft had the Capital building as it's target.

Isnt it obvious that the hijackers chose 9/11 because the weather was good and they could fly visually ?
