Hi all,

Did anyone see the article in the Guardian's editor this morning? They were suggesting that despite the fact BA's profits have gone up from 5m to 150m in one year, a new runways (presumably as well as t5) is needed at Heathrow or the profits will plummet. Would this be true??

If so surely there is simply no room for another runway...

Any thoughts appreciated

I saw a mention somewhere that the Aussie bloke who runs BA said he would pull the airline out of Heathrow for some reason. Wonder where he's going to move it to - Popham? Halfpenny Green?

No, come on - it's obvious!! Rod Eddington will establish BA's main hub at Amsterdam or Frankfurt, maybe even Charles de Gaulle. These are exactly the places you would expect to find BRITISH Airways!!!

I heard recently that because of high airport costs in Britain, BA could establish a major hub somewhere in europe and have connecting flights to Britain. How convenient for all involved!!

Maybe this was the real reason behind the KLM talks!?!
