I've just seen the the film "Cast Away" last Thursday when it opened. I was surprised that FedEx allowed their name to be used for a plane crash. I suppose there's no such thing as bad advertising.
But they usually make up fictitious airlines for the movies. I think the British plane blown up by the terrorists in "Die Hard 2" was called "Windsor Airlines". I can't remember the name they used for the plane in "White Knights", but it was in Aer Lingus colours but without the name.
The crash in "Cast Away" was scary.
What do Fed Ex crew think of the film?

Considering how much money advertisers will spend on just getting their name on the "camera" side of a football stadium, without saying anything about their product, I would guess that FedEx paid the producers a fortune to get all that product placement. The whole film is like an extended advertisement (clearly we were supposed to think that his initial intention was to preserve the packages for later onward transmission, and only opened them after much heart searching.)

BTW, great film 'til he was rescued, thereafter total syrupy pap.
