Urgent - Info on Flying in Dubai

I'm going to DXB on Thursday a.m. - would appreciate opinions on whether it's worth packing my licence... I will be there for five days - could I hire an aircraft and fly on my CAA PPL?

Any advice appreciated - also on fun/ unusual things to do (someone must have stopped there before me!)

Hire a car and head towards Ras Al-Khaimah. There is a small airfield beside the road with a very active Microlight club. Dhr300 per hour.
