Paper was relatively easy .

Lots of questions taken from oxford ATPL ( word for word although one option might be deleted )

Most of the questions copied from JAA ATPL question banks

100 questions 1 mark each

About 5-7 questions out of syllabus

These include TCAS , GPWS , Flight Director , VOR coupled Autopilot question ,
All these are not in the syllabus for CPL as per new syllabus updated in June 2011

A question on scales no matter how hard i tried could not match the answer with any of the options given ( not even close ) :ugh:

Q. On a map 7cm represents 40nm . Find the scale of the map . Can someone solve this for me ?

25/100 questions came from MET
A metar was given and 3 question were based on the given METAR
3 questions based on Indian Climatology

Thats weird....
if you mark the closest answer, You are through..

Anyways, All the best !

@Cyril thanks so getting 70 out 100 from that paper was easy?

@VT-ASM

I got the same answer when i solved the question

However none of the options came anywhere near the 4 options given

The closest was 1:150,000 and the rest were even higher

I had mentioned everything on the objection sheet regarding outside syllabus but i couldnt mention this question as the Invigilator did permit me to finish it once 3 hours was up :ugh: :*

@tanyaa
There were 100 question in all
So each and every question was 1 mark each

@tanyaa

Hard to say untill i see my result . Yes 70 is easy because you have to get 31 or more questions wrong in order to fail .
I usually end up making silly mistakes hopefully i wont this time

Compare that to the earlier attempt when the first 10 questions were 2 marks each was more easier to fail

If you want ace the DGCA exams here are my reference guides

Oxford ATPL ( Solve all the questions in the back )
GSP books ( question bank very important )
Keith Williams ( General Nav and Instrumentation book )

And last but not the least this website

Aviation Training (http://www.turbineturbine.com)

Choose JAA ATPL as thats where the DGCA get its questions from

@ Cyril wat was the paper pattern earlier .. I mean as you said 1st 10 questions were of 2 marks each!

The previous two attempt the first 10 questions were 2 marks each and the rest were 1 mark each .

This time there were 100 questions . The marking scheme was not mentioned on the paper so I am assuming all questions were 1 mark each .

The DGCA keeps changing the marking pattern from attempt to attempt

cyrilroy21
28th Aug 2011, 13:59
Thats what the DGCA says when it comes to the exam result , 1 month .

Last time the result came out in 1 and half months ( 6 weeks )

After 1 month you have to keep checking the website everyday....
