Hi Friends,

I was assessed for CAA Class II medical cerificate at RAF Cranwell in April 2000 for the Flying Scholarship (got it as well). I have not since renewed it and now wish to upgrade it (at own's expense) to the Class 1 medical certificate. Does anyone know if this means that i will now save some money(if so how much) off the Class 1 assessment and won't have to do as many tests.

Any information recieved will be well appreciated.

Happy New Year,

PIC.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the RAF medical won't save you any ££££

You will have to go through an 'Initial' Class 1 Certification medical and this will cost £400 at the CAA's Aeromedical Division at Aviation House, near Gatwick Airport.

All the faqs that you might have about the tests are on a webpage http://www.srg.caa.co.uk/pld/med/med_faq.asp

E-mail me for more help, I've been in your position!!
