I understand that the latest ruse from the DFT is to require Ipad owners to remove the ipad case when going through airport security.

you can hide something under a fake ipad...this is the reason I think.they want see front and back as extra mesure before the Xray.

In Moscow SVO and DME they ask you to turn your smartphone/Iphone/Ipad on to prove it is real before sending it through the X-Ray.

I don't understand this ruling. I flew through Gatwick twice last week they weren't interested in my Ipad and my laptop was allowed through in its neoprene sleeve, no need to take it out.

Where did you get your info from?

Sark,

was it an Ipad3, I am waiting for this one as the case will be extra light and the screen will have more pixels.
It will be my first pad.I think to use it in my plane as a pilot.
I have 2 main problems with these tablets, the weight, and the display.

You'll be lucky, they've only just launched the IPad 2!!
