The next Duxford Bonus day is the AOPA day and is open to members and non-members.

As well as the usual Bonus Day discounts and opportunities to look around the museum, this Bonus Day features the AOPA symposium from 11.30 to 16.00 local. Speakers include:
Cliff Whitaker (head of Licencing at CAA) "A Guide Through the Flight Crew Licencing Minefield"
Dawn Lindsey (CAA Directorate of Airspace Policy) and Olympic team "Olympic Airspace Restrictions Explained."
As well as Martin Robinson and team discussing other matters taxing AOPA and the flying community.
There is plenty of time to ask the experts taxing questions.
The symposium is held in the AirSpace conference centre.

The day includes lunch and costs £20 (including Symposium admission, museum admission, both discounted by Duxford and subsidised by AOPA).
Landing fee is £7, the usual Bonus day discount. Landing slots are restricted, so book soon, please.
For this event, it is also possible to drive in, see:
Full details and bookings via the AOPA website Welcome to AOPA UK (http://www.aopa.co.uk)

There are more details on the AOPA part of the Flyer forums:
http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewforum.php.

Look forward to seeing lots of forum folk on 10th September.
BUT PLEASE BOOK SOON.

Alan.

There's less than two weeks to go to this event. Landing slots are still available, but the popular times are filling up. So, if you're thinking of coming, visit the AOPA web site and book you slot and ticket soon.

Chris Royle posted the following elsewhere:

"Not sure which way the weather is going to jump at the moment, but if you have booked to fly in and you are not happy with the weather, then please remember you are welcome to drive in. Duxford is easily reached via the M11 and there is masses of free parking once you get there. Just tell staff on the gate that you are attending the AOPA meeting in the Airspace Conference Centre and they will direct you accordingly.
And don't worry, your pre-paid landing fee will be refunded if you decide to drive and not fly in.
For catering purposes, it would be really helpful if those of you who indicated when booking that they are flying in could confirm if their POB numbers are likely to be converted to tickets. Please send an e mail to [email protected].
Lastly, why not invite a non AOPA member to join you on Saturday?
Safe journeys everyone and looking forward very much to seeing you all at Duxford."

There are still a few slots free - see Welcome to AOPA UK (http://www.aopa.co.uk), or phone 01223 833376 on the day if you want to take a chance.
