Anybody know who callsign 'Rainbow' is? Was working Benson yesterday (Tue 7/11/00) and heard a royal rotary go through about 3.30ish, Swindon to Reading via CPT.
Just curious.......

In days of old the callsign Rainbow would have been D of E as pilot (nominally), but these days it merely refers to a Helicopter of 32 (The Royal) Squadron (I think when it is carrying a royal personage).

I thought the Royal Flight was for the exclusive use of President Blair and the Royals flew scheduled.
