UFO or business jet?

I was a passenger on a BA flight from Toronto a few years back and was alarmed to see some of the cabin crew rush to an isle window and look out. I was in a window seat a few rows behind them, so I had a good view as to what they were looking at. In between the clouds I saw a long cigar shaped aircraft pass us on a parallel heading and in the opposite direction. I guess it was about 1000ft away and slightly lower in altitude. I could only see it for a few seconds and lost sight as it passed under the wing.

The cabin crew said it was a small jet, but I could see no windows or tail fin!..spooky a.

Any thoughts?
