Looks like there will be an ad in Flight in the next week or so for pilot positions with BSP.

Highly desirable qualifications will be S-92 JAA TRE; current, or very recent, SAR command (ideally S-92); extensive heavy type longline/external reference experience in a production environment.

It's not one position, so the above are not all required in one individual!

Keep an eye out and I'll advise of the publication date :ok:

Do you think they would take me on? I'd only have to get my licence back up to speed again, do a conversion etc then I could offer you a couple of months flying before I'm past my sell by date for BSP........

Seems like an outfit like BSP would benefit from setting a minimum flight hour requirment of say 3500 hrs. References and interviews can thin the crowd considerably. Then pick the folks that best fit the BSP mold. Personally I fly a Citation Excel, Bell 412, and a LongRanger. All of them can ruin your day plenty quick. To steal a golfers quote "it's not the arrows, it's the Indian".

By chance, did the previous S-92 TRE holder get enticed away by a Chinese operator?

I've been doing work (non-aviation related) for Brunei Shell Petroleum for a decade and visit Brunei every second year.

If you are a bit more mature, and possibly have a family, Brunei is a great place. Very comfortable, quiet and safe. Probably a bit too quiet for a young single guy.

BSP are avery professional and decent outfit, run by locals, but heavily influenced by the poms (ala BP).

212man,
Why only a JAA license for BSP? Looking at the Brunei CAA webpage they accept any ICAO license.

No S-92 TREs have left. You may be thinking of the S-61 TRE who left 6 years ago, and who has now joined an outfit owned by an American bank.

If only you'd let us know you were interested - we could have saved a fortune in advertising.

Is this job posting closed?
I cannot find it on the web-page at all, nor am I available to register on the candidate page, as the requred 'ID type' field cannot be selected.

Maybe a problem with my computer / browser?
