View Full Version : Emirates A380 @ LHR (originally an Airbus test aircraft)

Caught this Emirates A380 @ LHR yesterday(29/06/2011). It was originally used by Airbus as a test aircraft (F-WWEA). It was then refurbished was delivered to Emirates in June 2010 almost 4 years after it originally flew.

I'm presuming they would have got a good discount for this aircraft ? She was MSN 09 and first flew on 25/08/2006.

It's not as if they'd been flying her solid in those four years. Is it not the case that it was built for Emirates and then held back for further testing? It's not uncommon, BA got G-VIIA and G-BGDA well out of sequence but I don't believe there was a discount.

NB you missed the new Emirates reg in your post, this aircraft is now A6-EDJ.
