I was wondering and arguing the fact of whether the PA28 is newer than the 152? or are they both the same???

It would be great if you could validate this
cheers,

The PA28 designation covers several different models, and the 152 is really a just a 150. In terms of basic design the straight-fin Cessna 150 came before first Cherokee.

Cessna 150 first appeared 1959. In 1978 it was re-engined to 110HP(among other things) and this was designated C-152.

PA 28-140 (Cherokee)was brought out in response to Cesnna's 172 and appeared in 1962. Almost simultaneously Piper brought out a whole slew of variants with the same basic shape (Archer, Dakota &c).

Technically you could say that the PA 28 is older than the C-152.
