Hi,
A quick question...

When filling out your logbook, do you enter the date of local departure or UTC? i.e. departing Mumbai at 02:30 local on Wednesday, it's 21:00 UTC on Tuesday.

Personally, I've always used the local date :O

UTC. Local times do not work at all once you start crossing timezones, besides the relevant legislation for me (JAR-FCL 1.080) requires that all off- and on-block times are recorded in UTC.

Even 24 years back when i started flying on gliders we used UTC, so it is nothing new.

Well H-D, in years of reading Prune you have wone the prize.

Ask yourself this, if you flew in a jet from BOM via DXB to LHR and if you departed at the correct time and flew at supersonic speeds-Concorde-then you probably would need to fill in your logbook at all if you use local time as each flight would arrive at the same time or before you left.

BTW please tell me that you fly only a mahogany bomber/screen and not a real a/c with people who pay you to be professional:ugh:
