The annual pilgrimage to Mecca that muslims are obligated to take (with some exceptions) once during their lifetime.
The Islamic faith is based on 5 pillars or rites, one of these is to perform a pilgrimage at some stage in your life to the Holy City of Makkah to perform Hajj. This event happens yearly in the 12th Hegira month and attracts approximately 2 million people. About half of these people arrive by air into the city of Jeddah, hence the aviation interest, it’s a wonderful time for airlines to make money by leasing out aircraft.

Well I feel ignorant!
The reason I asked was because on a leasing-focussed website I saw HAJJ alongside ACMI quite a number of times, and assumed it was another leasing concept.
