Hi,

Lynn Rippelmeyer was the first woman to become a B747 captain in 1984. She worked for People Express.

Do you know what she became ? Is she still a pilot ?

Thanks

Didn't she become pregnant by her co-pilot and leave to give more time to her family? I think this is the same woman; if I'm mistaken please forgive me. Good luck with your search!

Why not do an internet search under 'first reversing accident in a B747'. That'll probably tell you what became of her! ;) ;) ;)

More power girl - now you're on profile - keep it coming down. Well done, I've got it now.

Just heard the other day that we've upgraded our first lady to Captain on the 744F (CLX). Well done!

Couple or three years ago I flew from LA to Heathrow in a Virgin 747 which had two ladies up front. Can't remember the Captain's name, sorry ma'am. Damn good trip though.

The First Female B747 Captains in the U.S. and World were Lynn Rippelmeyer and Bev Burns who asked to fly their first trips on the same day so they could share the honor (18Jul84) Lynn flew TransAtlantic, Newark-Gatwick and Bev flew TransContinental, Newark-Los Angeles.
