We are five italian pilots hired by a company operating swedish aircraft (we are hired but the last time we touch the plane was one mounth ago!!!). We're working to get a JAA licence to fly (hopefully) this aircraft but seems to be impossible for us to get a conversion of our italian commercial licence in a JAA licence. We called the JAA bureau in holland and they told us to try to call the British CAA. The only thing that they told us is "sorry but you are italian"!!! I was told that it should be a way to get the JAA licence but I really don't have a clue how to manage this problem.
Any suggestion?

Maybe your own CAA in Italy will be able to answer your questions on converting to the JAA license (they should!). I know the JAA license will officially be accepted in Italy as of Jan 2001, so, hopefully they know what to do with people like yourselves who want to convert! Good luck :)
