Does anyone know if there are any Italian operators that accept Canadian ICAO licences? I've got a Canadian ATPL with Italian citizenship and 4000 hrs- >12,500lbs turboprop time. If not, do they have their own Italian licence or do I have to do the dreaded JAA conversion?
Thanks

Well, all I know is that Italy is not yet fully compliant for the JAA licensing therefore , either you can apply for a national license (quite a lenghty process)or ask for an annual validation of your licence, which is easier to have, just a paperwork matter, in case an employer apply on your behalf. Best of luck

With a Canadian passport and your experience I'd go for the UK aviation market. There are more opportunities in the UK with carriers like Go, Ryan Air, Easyjet, Excel Airways, GB Airways, etc. All these airlines seem to be recruiting right now.

Compared to the Italian market you'll be earning more money in the UK and even if the cost of living is higher than in Italy your lifestyle will increase about 20%.

Good Luck!
