Is British Regional airways the same company as the normal British Airways mainline? Eg.Could a BA Regional pilot be promoted to mainline BA on the A319?

PROMOTED????? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad.gif" /> Firstly British Regional (BRAL) Airlines is not the same company as British Airways Regional (BAR) but both are wholly owned by British Airways (BA). BAR pilots are the harder working relations of the BA mainline pilots, they are employed by BA mainline and are seconded to BAR to fly the 737s and A319s. They are on the same seniority list, the trainers train across both BAR and BA mainline fleets and to move between the two is not a question of promotion, merely a lifestyle choice between which base you wish to work at. BRAL pilots on the other hand are an entirely seperate entity, neither employed by BA nor on the BA master seniority list. Currently there is no avenue for BRAL pilots to join that list other than to leave BRAL and join BA at the bottom.
