What's the rule for Crew

With most airlines requiring all luggage in the hold nowadays, what is the story for the flight/cabin crew? Are they required to now wait around while ground-ops attempt to find their baggage
Has there been any major chnages in security processes etc?

I've made many trips since Sept 11th and it's business as usual with carry - on baggage with perhaps the exception slightly more searching....
