Might be of marginal interest here, but worth posting anyway. The pilot is technically correct, I believe, but he goes on a bit too long with it. He should have just taken a number and called afterwards.

Yes, the pilot is correct he can fly though a warning area VFR. It sounded like he bone to pick with the military and took it out on the controller. The part that got me is when he was trying to play the martyr and wondering how he would know airspace was active if he wasn't getting flight following. That's what they make NOTAMs for.

Ha brilliant, and he is correct. I always found Daytona controllers a bit grumpy, the guys at Orlando are brilliant !

The pilot is a complete an utter tosser for conducting such a conversation on the R/T.
By all means ask the question, but to continue to argue the point shows an utter disregard for professional standards. :rolleyes:
