I believe that European airline crews are not being adequately informed on NATO's ongoing Operation Unified Protector. On the other hand FAA issued a rule for prohibiting flights of US airlines and crews into the HLLT FIR (http://www.faa.gov/news/media/SFAR%20Libya%20March%2019%20RBM%20ver%203.pdf). Are we european less vulnerable to SCUDs or Tomahawks? Or what?

Lets face it, the Libyan Air Force now poses no threat, and there is going to be a period when fighting diminishes on land but the zone remains in place covering the whole FIR.

Q: So how does an airline, say for example one chartered by UN or a NGO to take aid to Benghazi, get a formal exemption or clearance from NATO to enter the NFZ ? Same question relating to an offshore helicopter flight to an oil rig in the zone ?
