Hi,

Just a quick question. Does anyone happen to know when the FDR of a 767-300ER starts recording or where I could find out?
My thoughts are that it starts when the first engine is started, but I could do with confirming.

Cheers,
Rhys

From the dim and distant past, wasn't it something to do with the first engine starting?

That's what I was thinking, possibly an oil pressure switch?

From Boeing FCOM.
" The flight recorder provides a permanent record of selected operational systems
in a sealed, fire–resistant container. The recorder automatically turns on when
either engine is operating or the airplane is in flight.
