Hi boys and girls of Pprune land.
A friend of mine asked me how much it would be to lease a 20-30 seat turbo-prop??
Like SAAB 340 or a Beech 1900 or similar. As I didn't know I'm forwarding the question to you ppruners.....

Some info: the aircraft is to be flown by pilots from the company that wants to lease and the aircraft is to be flown in Africa.

Thanks in advance for any info. :)

The only thing I know about this is that a year or so ago in NZ you could hire (don't know about lease) an 18 seat Bandit for NZ$ 1500/hr (about £500/hr).

Hope someone else can help you more!

Sounds a bit excessive for a beaten up bandit, my mob 'rent a shed' at around £600/700 per flying hour.

I used to fly the Saab and was told that it cost the company £1000 per hour before they started making any profit.

What you need to do is contact a leasing firm, they will let you know about prices, they probably won“t be by the hour, but by the month (with a min. of hrs. per) and require a medium to long term contract, if it is leased dry (no fuel, or crew) it will be less expensive, but they will expect the carriers crew to undertake specific training and have a set minimum of experience.
Good luck!

To give you an idea - a Saab 340 would be in the region of USD60k per month whilst a Beach 1900 would be around USD45k per month. This would not include the crew.
