Going through the DGCA Draft CAR on All Weather Operations (Section 8, Series 'C', Part 1), could someone amplify what it means when it says
"Note.— If the RVR is reported as being above the maximum value assessed by the aerodrome operator, e.g. “RVR more than 1500 metres”, it is not considered to be a reported value for the purpose of this paragraph."

All RVR measuring systems have a maximum value that can be reported - typically this is 1500 to 2000m. When the wx conditions require RVR to be reported and the system is sensing or measuring something more than the maximum value, it is passed to pilots as 'RVR in excess of xxxx'. I presume that the note is simply trying to make clear that the rules where RVR is a controlling element to the application of the rule, it doesn't apply when the RVR value is more than the maximum measurable (if that makes sense.....).
