Evening all,

Does anyone know if theres a flying club at this airport? I'm going in July for 2 weeks and wouldnt mind taking an a/c around the island. I would probably only want the a/c for 2 hours or so and it would more than likely need to be a PA28.

I have seen SX-ABZ does/ did belong to them but whether that is still the case

I have e-mailed them through this website AIR - ZAKYNTHOS - AEROCLUB IN LAGANAS ZAKYNTHOS GREECE (http://www.travel-to-zakynthos.com/aeroclub/laganas/airzakynthos/) but haven't got a reply:confused:

Any ideas, email adresses etc?

There is no UK-style self fly hire in Greece.

You can join an aeroclub though, in general, and fly with somebody there.

This (http://www.aopa.gr/en/faq.asp) is the Greek AOPA site. It is run by people who do speak good English. At the aeroclub level you may not get a reply but that is pretty normal around Europe, I have found.

I have flown around Greece lots, but always in my own plane.

Hi

I went on holiday to Zakynthos in 2006 and asked the holiday rep if it was possible to fly there. She managed to contact the owner of SX-ABZ and we flew around the island. The owner was S Malapetsas. Thats all the info I have with me at the moment but I think I wrote his mobile number down in my logbook at home. He doesn't speak very good English but his son sat in the back and translated for us. Well worth the effort and we had a great flight. I got some nice aerial pics too. Good luck.
