Renewal TR costs and ME/IR ratings

Hi guys.
I wanna know how many sim session do you need to keep your type rating valid on your licence? (no hrs on type) How much would it cost?
I have MEP and IR ratings current til April. What happens to those ratings if you renew a type rating. ie 737? I guess, MEP expires not the MEJ, but what about IR?

Its 1 sim session every 12 month. This is called an LPC it will renew your MPA IR but not your MEP IR.
