I suppose I could just look this up, but...

Is there any recurrent training required if you get a type rating? I mean if you get one, do you have to fly a certain number of hours in type every year, or retake the test or something, or is it good forever?

I obviously have more money than sense to ask a question like this, but then again... That's not to say I actually have that much money :D

A type rating is a one-time permanent endorsement on a pilot certificate. You need to do an oral equipment examination and a practical flight test. See FAR 61.3

The type rating is permanent but, a recurrent check is required every twelve months (FAR61.58) in order to act as PIC.
One could, for example, have a type rating in a B707 and not have flown same for 20 years, complete the recurrent check and then fly the aeroplane as PIC.
