We plan to ferry a turbo-prop from US to Asia. There is no HF on that airplane. It cost a fortune to install one, but we are not going to use it again. Can we fly the NOPAC without HF? We do have a Air Cell Satellite phone.

Thru PANC to Nome and Anadyr in eastern Siberia should work. At FL 410 and above, VHF only except for an HF position report over the Sea of Ohotsk which should be circumnavigated easily enough.

Getting the permits might require some careful planning and patience. Our company, using Lears, have had good luck with Nome, Petro, Khavaorsk or Sendai and Nagoya. Khavaorsk requires a Chinese overflight, probably as it is right on the border
