Dear all,

looking for any links to online video footage of airbus/boeing wing tests to destruction-needed for presentation, rather than morbid fascination!!

much appreciated

I don't know about any online videos but I know "Microsoft World of Flight" CD-ROM (which I have) has a video like the one you described. Although, the wings snapping part only lasts about 7 seconds.

nope, but if you do find something, I'd sure like to see .... should put Airframes & powerplants in the ATPLS into perspective!

There was a presentation on Channel 10 News (Sydney Australia) in 1989 about the introduction of the B747-400 into Qantas. It included all the usual, but fantastic, footage of Boeings being tested. Such items as Rejected Take-offs with the brake rotors glowing red etc etc. It included a wing being bent to destruction. I suspect the reporter got most of the footage "off the shelf" from Boeing. Try http://www.ten.com.au/ or http://www.boeing.com/
Hope this helps!

Best footage I ever saw was by Channel 4 in the 20th Century Jet series, on the development of the B777. You might try their archives.

This page has a link to video of a DG-1000 wing destruction test. It's just a glider, but until you find the airbus/boeing video, check it out . . .
