Any suggestions for a good world atlas on CD ROM? I have asked in several mapshops over the past few years to be given vague replies of their existence.

If you have used such Atlases what scale do they offer, and are they disturbingly "US-Centric"?

Thanks in advance.

I remember seeing the MS Encarta offering a couple of years back, and being very disappointed with the map resolution and content compared with (for example) Autoroute.

My favourite is www.geoclock.com, (http://www.geoclock.com,) which for a small download gives similar definition to the inflight displays, with excellent time zone info and a screensaver option to boot!

Give it a try.
