RealSim..yep, I can answer your questions.

How to become an R/T teacher is the easiest. LEARN CAP413 from cover to cover - understand exactly what it says, then stand at the front of the classroom and tell somebody else. You can just do it. There is no official course for R/T training, so you do not need official instruction - so there is no official instructor.

Just be bloody good at it before you try to teach it.

Examiner? First, LEARN CAP413, then find a flying school that needs an R/T examiner - take note, no more than two examiners allowed on any one airfield.

Apply to the CAA for permission to become an examiner - they will send you an application form - get the flying school to complete it and justify their need for an(other) examiner.

Return the form to Capt. Mike Grierson at the CAA - with a cheque for approx £297 (cannot remember exactly - and it's probably gone up).

He will then send you some reference material for you to LEARN. Then, when you think you are good enough, schedule a test with Capt. Mike. The test is a combination of two written examinations (30 minutes each) and a practical test of around 45 minutes.

If he agrees that you are good enough and that the school that nominated you needs you to be one - you are one.
