I need to fly down to London tomorrow or Wednesday in a Cessna 185. Are any airfields in the London area open for light aircraft? Thanks for any information.

Which bit of London are you hoping to get to?

Biggin Hill appears to have been open today, whether it will be tomorrow after the snow that is forecast I have no idea. Best to phone up your possible destinations and find out from them on the day you plan to depart.

Last time I was there they said Heathrow and City was closed for single engine, light aircraft activity.

JFK is open. ;)

Try EGWU. They're still publishing TAFs etc!

Thanks for the info. My other problem is that I need an airfield I can fly out of on Christmas Day as it is my only way home. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Northolt do not accept single engine - unless you're invited on Family Day.

Headcorn seems to open (Turbs on Ski's) and biplanes operating (Cessna 185 should be ok on Big Tyres)
Train service to London from there.
