Please excuse my ignorance, but in my sleepy little backwater we don't get many big jets! What type will I be flying on tomorrow XLA5050 1225UTC LGW-TFS? Tickets only arrived this morning and I've never heard of Excel Airways before!

Excel Airways fly 767's. They used to be known as Sabre Airways

Correction to that last message. Excel fly 737-800's!!!
Have Excel also inherited Sabre's 727 fleet? Mind you, I doubt they'd run one of those on the route in question eh?

No the Sabre 727 got left behind. It's now operated by Cougar I believe.

Excel (callssign Expo) fly B738's AND B762's. They were Sabre until last year, and the B727 fleet was retired when they were taken over.
Shame all this information is wasted on MP3....he departed the day before the first reply was made.
