Flying charity for sick/disabled children?

Hi

Every other year at work we are allocated an amount to donate to a chosen charity.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a charity(s) which provide flights for sick/disabled children? I have seen such things mentioned on occasion, but also have heard some stories of ones that are less than reputable and want to make sure the money goes to a diserving place.

The two charities, Starlight and Burned Children's Club are general charities, but several forumites are regularly involved in the flying side of their operation.

It's a Dutch charity though, but it does exactly what you're looking for. I'm one of the core volunteers for them.

Tax deductable too but I don't know how that works across borders.

I second fly2help - Lifting Horizons (http://www.fly2help.org) - we help them every year and it's THE best day of my year, honestly.

They are entirely focussed on flying life limited and chronically ill kids - it's the most positive charity I've ever had anything to do with.

How about CLIC Sargent - Caring for Children and Young People with Cancer : Home (http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home)

Every year we have a day at the airfield taking the kids and their siblings / carers on short flights and to see the joy it gives some of them is worth every penny it costs us.

The airfield owner is particularly generous and offers free fuel and BBQ as well as airfield use...

I very nearly bought the Air Coupe a chap was selling for the Burned Childrens Club, sadly i was moving back to NZ and the shipping costs was too great, i was very happy to pay over the odds for it, great A/C great cause.

Always been my ambition to help these kinds of charities with my chosen hobby. Sadly i don't think my flying would help sick children get any better.

I can only hope! anybody know of such charities in NZ?
