Anyone know what conversions, if any, are
required for FAA licensed pilot to fly
N Reg aircraft based in UK commercially?

I'm not familiar with UK regulations, but as I see in your profile you got an FAA ATPL. I think with that you can fly N airplanes all over the world with no restrictions (Chicago Convention).

Thanks, thats the way I understood it. I
see a lot of N reg aircraft based in the UK when we go there, got to wondering who owns
em and who flies them.

It becoming a growing item for UK based poilots to gain FAA qualifications as they are cheaper i.e UK IR £10,000, FAA IR $3,300 - and then obtain a N reg plane and keep it on the N register through a third party. Its pretty complicated as a UK citizen is not legally allowed to own an N Reg plane, its also pretty risky as you have to make sure you use a bonafide companyas otherwise they could run off with your transport. Maybe someone on here who has done it can fill you in more...
