Low Pressure Query

I have a question regarding low pressure settings and require your input...

What is the recommended procedure if you are given a altimeter pressure setting which is lower than can be set on the altimeter subscale i.e 940mb?

Personally I would push the aircraft into the hangar, make sure the storm shutters are closed and secure and retire to the nearest bar!:ok:

You ask the airfield what your altimeter will read, on landing, when you have the subscale set to 1013.2 hPa or 29.92in (QNE).

I know a bloke who almost had to do it, taking a 737 into Luton on the night of 15th October 1987, the night of Michael Fish's Hurricane that wasn't. The pressure dipped to 95 something hPa.

I know another bloke, who knows yet another bloke, who once had to do it (allegedly)!
