It seems that finally there won´t be any air traffic control at LECG tonight. There have been intermitent closedowns this weekend due to controllers reaching the maximun amount of hours of activity established by the law 9/2010 many times commented here. The government took political control of a technical area and this is what you get.

Aena has not issued a NOTAM and it seems that has not advised Eurocontrol either about the situation, since there´s not a RATE ZERO issued at this time. The main problem is that the galician airports are the first ones that oceanic flights encounter when they get to Europe mainly from North America, and are the alternative for many flights whose pilots will not be able to know that they are completely closed.

This will be a problem that will spread through the main Air Traffic Control Centers all over Spain on december. Sooner or later, there will be no controllers available. What will happen then?

This is the consequences of the actions taken by the new AENA management, harrasing their controllers and pushing them to the limit.

Oh well...
