Hi everyone,
Hope this topic has not been covered yet, but I'm on my phone and the search option is not working :(

I did my training back in 2006 and I've been granted Grandfather rights on the English proficiency, achieving Level 4.
Now, Level 4 isn't anything great... So I wanted to take a proper test and get a better evaluation. Anyone knows a school in East Anglia? The closest one I found is down in Bornemouth!!! I live in Cambridge and would love not to loose a whole day for a 1/2 hour test :uhoh:
Any suggestion is welcome!
Regards
Allioth

Your grandfather rights run out in March anyway so you'll need to do a test. Nearest for you may be Oxford Aviation Academy. Good luck.

Thanks for the info!!
I'll contact OAA and have a look.

You don't have to do a test. On your next renewal/revalidation get the examiner to counter-sign you as level 6 then it never has to be renewed.

If you are a native English-speaker that is no problem. But many examiners are unaware that they can do this

What?

For signing a level 6, you need an examiner who can take level 6...
Not everybody who can test you on level 4 is allowed to sign for level 5 or 6.

There also have been a lot of "native-english speaking" persons who failed level 6-mainly due to strong accents....
