Hi folks,

Does anyone happen to know the maximum height of a person who could comfortably fit in an Alpha 160A (or Robin 2160)?

I have a friend who is 6 foot 4 who want to come along for some aeros, but lacking the lofty height myself I'm not sure if the canopy and his face would intersect!

Cheers,

Gareth.

I'm 1.86m and have about 6 cm to spare above my head.

I'm 6'2" and as long as I do the straps TIGHT then I have no problems, couple of inches clearance and no restriction at looking around.

Height should be OK. Just so long as he isn't every wide then you'll both fit in there, I find them to be a bit on the narrow side.

I'm 6'4" and have no trouble fitting into a Robin 2160.

I always duck my head though when we close the canopy, just in case :)

I am 6ft 2 and my head is 2 inches above the roof line with the canopy open. Its back length you are interested in not height!

so from the last 2 posts we now know that Whopity's arse is much closer to the floor than rich_g85.:eek:
I think this is called too much information. :\:\

The only way you will know is if your friend tries it out to see if he's comfortable and happy. My friend is a couple of inches shorter than the previous owner of my plane, yet he can't get comfortable. I think its more to do with being "scared" of flying, and being a bit of a daft pratt about his height. :ugh:

I'm 6'5" and fly the 160a without an issue.

Thanks for all the responses folks!

I guess 6'4" might be a bit close, so I guess I'll have to get my friend down to the club and measure up.

Cheers,

Gareth.

if need be take out the seat foam (its only velcro anyway) and that gives you another half a foot! Had an instructor that used to fly all day like that!
