Hi

I was a GAPAN member for many years leaving recently when I became
65 and no longer allowed to be involved in commercial aviation

GAPAN is one of many City of London Guilds who, collectively, have an ancient heritage of contributing to the City Of London as an economic force

There are various grades of membership to which one may be promoted
by experience and repute, I was proud to be an Upper Freeman.

The Guild has groups discussing and debating aviation issues of the day and seeking to impress the various government departments with their views, with predicatably varying results

They make visits of an educational nature to many aviation establishments, Farnborough, Boscombe Down,RAF stations and similar. Visits are well planned and excellent value for money. There is a visit about once a month

There are various sub groups and a lunch club

If you have the time, can travel within the UK easily and can afford the membership you will find it, if you are accepted, an very good move

Perhaps you could comment for the benefit of others in the pilot community on your experience of joining and belonging
